The controversial song by Bok van Blerk about the Anglo-Boer War that caused an outcry of indignation in South Africa. As the British tried to do a hundred years ago, the black majority government is now trying to suppress the Afrikaner nation's culture - and in fact all traces of their history. Public funding is being withdrawn from Afrikaner monuments, even though Afrikaners contribute more than their share to tax income. Millions are being spent on changing the names of towns, streets etc. while little is done to maintain infrastructure. The new generation of Afrikaners had nothing to do with Apartheid, yet they are faced with a bleak future, suffering under racial discrimination in the form of affirmative action. Although this excludes them from jobs and promotion beyond a certain level, it also stimulates entrepreneurship and innovative thinking. The Afrikaner nation will rise again to take its place in the country their forefathers helped to build and develop.

Both the Afrikaaners and the English screwed up South Africa!! I actually have more bitterness towards the British!! Britain has caused so many problems in this world!! I grew up in a very divided and hatred filled country, South Africa!! Thanks a lot, Brittain !!!!

When they migrated there there weren't permanent black tribes. British deserved to win? You think the British came to liberate the blacks which werent even slaves of the Boere?

You have it wrong way round, the british started the ensalving of Black Africans. The Boer nation still exist right into DRC doing what they do best farming. Many Black Africans died in the same concentration camps.

personally as an afrikaaner i think you are full of it... we have built our nation from the ground and bled for it... that makes it ours, and it also belongs to all who live in it... UK never had a right to our nation so w.e they were invaders and we were right to stand up to try and push them out

@purplediva2006 Sorry, I must comment on this. If it wasn't for us "expansionist, imperialist whites" then you in deepest dark Africa, would not have sanitation, technology, adaquite food, television, computers or internet. Stop fighting for your country and get your racism off our Internet. Thats right, I just claimed internet as a white only thing, as you can justify as claiming africa as a black only thing. And fyi, Whites in SA have more right to be there than you. They were there first.
