Well apart from all the oil under them Opium is about the only thing Afghanistan has to support itself. I don't think the Afghanistan farmers support the Taliban i think its more the fear of what will happen if they don't give them what they want. What everyone needs to remember is the Civilians get punished/killed if they talk to ISAF or don't do as the Taliban "ask"

I've told you why we cant just burn all the opium as the farmers rely on this for revenue to feed there families and if they are jobless the Taliban recruit them so is more of a problem, and have said how its so hard to enforce that only food is grown. the problem starts at the top, to get a government that can be trustworthy, then province governers, Police chiefs, its a long process to get everyone non corrupt which is what NATO is doing. Trust me, its not as simple as buning opium fileds.

The Italians are there as part of the NATO forces that was requested by both the US & UK governments. Also alot of the fighters come from Pakistan so the answer to your point is that the parts they need for production of opium will probably come from there and other Islamic states, Iran would be my bet, as they were producing parts for bombs in Iraq.

Anyway .. for me it is so easy! Do you want to destroy Talibans .. kill their money and they will stop to play. Where is their money ? On Opium fields .. so burn all of that !! But if nobody is doing this ... it is really strange! Moreover somebody is helping them to have more and more ... and more !! Really strange !!

??? Yes to live as they get money from the Taliban for the opium and if they dont the Taliban threaten them wi, possibly, killing a member of there family. Surely its not that hard to understand?

Ok I understand you have been there so: 1) Why opium fields are growing like hell ? 2) Are Talibans using that revenue ? or who is using that revenue? 3) Who is helping them to use the right technology to produce more opium per ectar? I havent been there so I cannot give an answer ... but you can!! .. so please help me to understand what fuck we are doing in Afghanistan !! What fuck italian soldiers (I am italian) are doing there ... smoking opium ??
