I have perthes disease right now, i have had it for at least a year and half & still havent had any surgery , i have just had crutches, i am only 14, i was diagnosed when i was 12, but, people just think its nothing but you dont realize how painful & upsetting it can be because i have be come alinated from my friends and people dont look at me in the same way no more, but heyy i just gotta make the most of what i have got, x

One thing bad about this story is how it pushes away from braces or other treatments. Dr. Standard and Dr. Paley have a bad relation with other doctors for there stance with treatment. Each child must be treated based on thier condition. Children under 6 do best with braces keeping the hip contained. Standard is bad about not doing this causing impingments later needing remolding surgery. The reason Cameron is active today is because of the treatment he had.

I suffered from Legg Calve Perthes Disease in both hip. I hade a sever case and had to under go many operations. I have wanted to spread they word about how you can live a normal active life after perthes. This program was wonderful ... Not many people know about it and some are misdiagnosed.
